Margot O'Neil has had an interest in art since a small child. Throughout her education, art was always a part of her curriculum. On her retirement in1999 she began to pursue her interest in oil painting. With a strong belief in the joys and benefits of plein air painting Margot has also organised many painting trips for members of the Peninsula Arts Society of which she has been President since 2009.
Several joint exhibitions have been held. 'Three Sheilas and a Bloke', at Malvern Art Society in 2000 and from 2004 to 2009 an annual exhibition was held at Pier Street gallery, Dromana, with fellow members of the 'Peninsula Palettes', a group of dedicated artists from the Mornington Peninsula.
Over the years Margot has undertaken tutelage with Colin Johnson, John Bredl, Brian Armstrong and Hans Van Vlodrup.
