Faye's home is in Hastings, a town on the Westernport side of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. Faye first started painting after retiring from the workforce in 1995. Art has become a way of life for her; and a passion. She enrolled in classes with different tutors, first painting in oils and then watercolour and after some time began having success, selling at art shows and local galleries. In 2006 she enrolled in a Visual Arts Diploma course at Chisholm, Frankston campus and studied sculpture, drawing, painting and printmaking, majoring in painting with her minor being printmaking.
Her work has moved from mainly traditional works to more contemporary, expressionistic styles, experimenting with techniques, textures and mediums. Her prints are exhibited in the Studio Gallery, Flinders, Mornington Peninsula. Her work is in private collections both in Australia and the United Kingdom. She enjoys the process of printmaking working mainly with linocuts, woodcuts, monoprints, colographs and drypoints. Faye finds the process of creating art to be a wonderful therapy. There is no end to learning and says she finds art to be a truly a rewarding pastime |
